  • Visit Mayfield gardens in Oberon ( largest open garden in the southern hemisphere )
  • Daffodils at rydal - first 2 weekends in September each year
  • Bushwalking on the large property 
  • Swimmin / Fishing / water sports at Lake Lyell
  • Meet friendly hand raised farm animals (dogs must be on leash!)
  • Kangaroo watching early morning or late afternoon
  • Take a dip in freshwater  Lake Lyell  nearby
  • Pick Saffron milkcap and Bolete mushrooms at one of the nearby pineforests
  • Visit local country pubs in   Rydal / Tarana / Oconnell / Hampton
  • Go for a walk and spot local wildlife / kangaroos/ echidna / kookaburra/wombats
  • Enjoy lovely lunch or dinner at  Blue Fox bar and kitchen in Lithgow is our current  favourite
  • ( we do have a good list of other places to eat inside the cottage in the compendium )
